Taiwan reported no new local cases of COVID-19 on Friday. The country also reported seven more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan. 

It is the second time in three days that Taiwan has reported no new local cases of COVID-19.

The addition of one more death from the virus brings the death toll from the beginning of the pandemic to 833. The deceased was a man in his sixties with pre-existing health conditions. 

Taiwan also recorded seven imported cases of COVID-19 on Friday. They include travelers from Sweden, the United States, Indonesia, and India. 

Health Minister Chen Shih-chung also announced an easing of restrictions for visitors to long-term care facilities. Starting Tuesday, up to three visitors at a time will be allowed provided they test negative for COVID-19 within the preceding three days. Facilities must continue to register visitors and ensure they wear masks and observe social distancing.
