Taiwan's new Medigen vaccine was released on August 23, and people are already registering for appointments. President Tsai Ing-wen was one of the first people to get the jab on Monday, and now Vice President William Lai has received his shot, too, this time on Friday.
After receiving the shot, Lai called on the public to get vaccinated and to sign up for Medigen as soon as possible.
Some people are still worried about the new vaccine's possible side effects, one of which is an increased appetite. After reporters asked Lai if he was hungry, Lai said he felt fine and had already eaten in the morning.
If such important people as the president and vice president are prepared to take the Medigen vaccine, ordinary people should have no reason to hesitate in getting it themselves.
