Taiwan reported three new local cases of COVID-19 on Monday. The country also reported five more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan. There were no deaths reported.
Of the three new local cases announced on Monday, two were men and one was a woman. None of them tested positive while in quarantine. One of the new local cases began experiencing symptoms on August 29, while the remaining two were asymptomatic.
All the new local cases are from New Taipei City.
As for the source of the three local cases announced on Monday, a specific source of transmission is known for one case, and the source is unknown for two.
Taiwan also recorded five imported cases of COVID-19 on Monday. They include travelers from Indonesia, Thailand, the Netherlands, and the Philippines.
