Taiwan reported one new local case of COVID-19 on Thursday. The country also reported four more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan.
The addition of one more death from the virus brings the death toll from the beginning of the pandemic to 837. The deceased was a man in his sixties with pre-existing health conditions.
The new local case announced on Thursday was a man who was not in quarantine when he tested positive. He was asymptomatic, but was determined to have the virus after visiting the hospital for other reasons.

Taiwan also recorded four imported cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. They include travelers from the United States, Russia, and South Africa.
