Taiwan reported eight new local cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. The country also reported four more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan. No new deaths from the virus were recorded.
Of the eight new local cases announced on Tuesday, one was a man and seven were women, all aged between 5 and 50. They all began experiencing symptoms between September 1 and 5.

As for the source of the eight domestic cases announced on Tuesday, a specific source of transmission is known for six cases, the source is unknown for one, and one case is still under investigation.
Taiwan also recorded four imported cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. They include travelers from India, Japan, Malaysia and Lesotho.
To date, Taiwan has 16,047 reported COVID-19 cases and 837 related deaths.
