Taiwan reported four new local cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. The country also reported two more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan.
The addition of one more death from the virus brings the death toll from the beginning of the pandemic to 838. The deceased was a man in his seventies with pre-existing health conditions.
Of the four new local cases announced on Thursday, three were men and one was a woman. None were in quarantine when they tested positive. One of the new local cases began experiencing symptoms on September 5, while the remaining three were asymptomatic.

Taiwan also recorded two imported cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. Both cases were travelers from Egypt.
