Taiwan reported two new local cases of COVID-19 on Monday. The country also reported three more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan. There were no deaths reported on Monday.

Both of the two new local cases announced on Monday were women. Both tested positive in quarantine after members of their household either tested positive for the virus or came into contact with a confirmed case.

One of the new cases is part of cluster centred around a kindergarten in New Taipei City. The other is connected to a confirmed case of a middle school student in Taipei's Songshan District.

The Monday totals (by city/county) are as follows:

New Taipei City: 1

Taoyuan City: 1

Taiwan also recorded three imported cases of COVID-19 on Monday. They include travelers from the United States and Japan.
