More COVID-19 cases have been found in Taoyuan City in connection with the recent cluster at a New Taipei City kindergarten. Taoyuan City Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan says that a husband and wife tested positive for the virus on Sunday and Monday.
Cheng says that 26 people in Taoyuan quarantined in relation to the kindergarten cluster are still undergoing testing. He says that since they are suspected Delta variant cases, the government is acting swiftly and using the strictest measures to safely isolate and collect data from these people.
Cheng says that authorities are continuing to search for people who may have come into contact with anyone connected with the kindergarten cases. He says Taoyuan and New Taipei City must work closely together to keep the virus from spreading more rapidly.
Cheng says that there are 37 people quarantining at home in Taoyuan after coming into contact with confirmed cases from the kindergarten. He says authorities will continue to monitor their situations closely.
Cheng says kindergartens must take COVID-19 prevention measures seriously given the high risk of infection. He says masks must be worn at all times and separate classes should not mix together to prevent similar clusters from forming at other schools.
