VIDEO: Lithuania and Taiwan continue to unite against foreign oppression
Taiwan’s representative to the United States Hsiao Bi-khim met with Lithuanian parliamentarians on Sunday to highlight the growing ties.

Lithuanian Members of Parliament Emanuelis Zingeris and Žygimantas Pavilionis met with Taiwan's representative to the US Hsiao Bi-khim at Twin Oaks on Sunday night to highlight the strong relationship between Taiwan and Lithuania.

Hsiao posted pictures of the meeting on Twitter, including the ceramic cat gifted to her, a cat lover, by Zingeris.

Hsiao expressed her gratitude on Twitter: “Honored to meet @ZygisPavilionis and @Zingeris of the Lithuanian Parliament, where we shared our peoples’ experiences resisting bullying and oppression, and fighting for freedom.  Also glad to show our face masks thanking Lithuania for vaccines!”

The growing support for Taiwan extends beyond Lithuania. Representatives from twelve countries spoke out in a recent video declaring  support for Taiwan and opposition to bullying from China. The video included politicians from Lithuania, France, the United Kingdom, and Australia.

Taiwan's foreign minister has thanked the countries for their support. Lithuania's foreign minister is going to meet with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday to talk about ties with China.

Taiwanese legislator Chao Tien-lin says that Lithuania and Taiwan's alliance and refusal to bow to China is a symbol of the conflict between the free and authoritarian worlds.

From vaccine donations to a new Taiwanese Representative Office, Taiwan- Lithuanian ties are going stronger by the day.
