Taiwan is set to receive over a million doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine and 640,000 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine on Friday. That was the word from Premier Su Tseng-chang on Wednesday.
This shipment of vaccine doses has been purchased by Taiwan’s government.
The shipment’s arrival will bring the number of COVID vaccine doses Taiwan has amassed so far up past the 17 million mark. Su said this number is higher than the figure he originally reported to the legislature.
Once the Moderna vaccine doses pass inspection, they will be administered as the second vaccine jab to senior citizens who have already received their first COVID vaccine dose.
