Yang Yung-wei won a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics in the judo Extra Lightweight event. Now he's back in Taiwan with a message about fighting off COVID-19.

Yang says one of the main principles of judo is using energy and strength in the most effective way against your opponent, and that these same principles are what it takes to check the spread of the pandemic.

Yang is stressing the importance of wearing a mask outside. He says that people also need to follow government guidelines about indoor dining and activities in public spaces. He says getting the vaccine will protect everyone, and that staying on top of personal hygiene, like thoroughly washing one's hands, is crucial.

Just like Yang, Taiwan needs to stay focused and keep its eye on the prize: eradicating COVID-19.
