Buyanting has become a popular place for people to take (somewhat dangerous) pictures of themselves - often standing in the middle of the road - to post on social media.

This breathtaking photo captures a moment while the sun is setting.

The Chinese phrase "buyan" means something you never tire of while "ting" means paviliion. The name implies that the views at this spot are something one will never tire of.

The viewing pavilion offers great views of New Taipei, the Keelung Harbor and the nearby mountains.

Buyanting was built along the New Taipei City Highway 102 in 1966 at the border between Ruifang and Shuangxi.  The road connects the picturesque town of Jiufen to the coastal county of Yilan.
