Taiwan is using its experience and resources to help South American ally Paraguay develop its small and medium-sized enterprises.
Taiwan’s International Cooperation and Development Fund says that examples of recent work to help smaller Paraguayan companies develop include a leather shoes exhibition. This was the first such exhibition ever held in Paraguay.
The fund also says it is pursuing a project to help smaller Paraguayan companies adopt digital technologies.
The effects of these programs for Paraguay are potentially significant: over 90% of companies in the country meet the definition of small and medium-sized enterprises, and together these companies employ a sizable proportion of the country’s workforce.
