Taiwan reported one new local case of COVID-19 on Wednesday. The country also reported ten more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan.
Taiwan’s COVID-related death toll from the beginning of the pandemic remains at 842.
The one new local case reported on Wednesday is an Indonesian woman in her 30s living in New Taipei City. She was admitted to the hospital and tested for COVID on Tuesday. The woman had tested negative for COVID-19 twelve times before testing positive. Health authorities have followed up with seven of the woman’s recent contacts and placed them under quarantine.
Taiwan also recorded ten imported cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. They include travelers from the US, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Cambodia, Russia, and the Philippines.
