On October 1, China's National Day, 25 Chinese military aircraft flew into the southwestern part of Taiwan's air defense identification zone (ADIZ). That's according to Taiwan's defense ministry.

The ministry said that the Chinese aircraft included 18 J-16 and four SU-30 fighters, two H-6 bombers, and one Y-8 anti-submarine warfare plane.  The ministry's report showed that all of the aircraft were spotted between Taiwan and the Pratas Islands.  The area is part of Taiwan's Air Defense Identification Zone.

Taiwan's Air Force scrambled planes to monitor the Chinese aircraft and issued radio warnings.

The highest number of Chinese military plane incursions occured on June 15 when China sent 28 planes.
