A batch of 200,000 custom-labeled Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines has arrived in Taiwan. The vaccines arrived on a China Airlines flight from Frankfurt to Taoyuan International Airport early on Monday morning.

Taiwan's government has requested that BioNTech vaccine doses arriving in Taiwan have custom labels without simplified Chinese characters. Normally, the vaccines would be labeled with the name of BioNTech's Chinese distributor, Fosun Pharma, and the vaccine's official name, Comirnaty.

This is the third batch of custom-labeled Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines to arrive in Taiwan.

The vaccines come as part of a 15-million dose donation by tech giants TSMC and Foxconn, and Buddhist humanitarian group the Tzu Chi Foundation. Over 3 million doses have already arrived in Taiwan in four batches over the last month.

The CECC will distribute the newly arrived vaccines once authorities have carried out the necessary safety checks.
