The tenth annual US Business Day is commencing on Tuesday. Both Taiwan and US representatives plan on discussing future business opportunities related to 5G networks, clean energy resources, and electric vehicles.

The head of Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) James Huang says that Taiwan's international status has improved due to how it has handled the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, when American consumerism began to restabilize post-2020, Taiwanese products began to see greater popularity in the American market.

This positive trend in US-Taiwan relations has continued through the change in leadership from Donald Trump to President Joe Biden.

Huang says if Taiwanese businesses want to compete for opportunities in the US market, they need to learn how to further develop their manufacturing and investment opportunities. Taiwan plans to send enterprise representatives to tour some of the leading businesses in the US next year to learn from their models and strengthen international partnerships.

TAITRA will host the Taiwan Expo in the US next year for the first time. It aims to showcase Taiwanese products and encourage business and cultural exchanges.
