Taiwan reported no new local cases of COVID-19 on Friday. It is the ninth day in a row without any domestic cases.
The country also reported twelve more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan. They include travelers from the United States, Malaysia, the Philippines, Myanmar, the UK, Japan, and Indonesia.
The addition of one more death from the virus brings the death toll from the beginning of the pandemic to 845. The deceased was a woman in her forties with pre-existing health conditions.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Taiwan has reported a total of 16,283 cases of COVID-19. That includes 1,648 imported cases and 14,581 domestic cases.
