COVID-19 (10/11): Taiwan reports one local case, no deaths
Taiwan's COVID-19 case numbers for October 11, 2021.

Taiwan reported one new local case of COVID-19 on Monday. The country also reported ten more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan. There were no deaths reported.

CECC deputy chief Chuang Jen-hsiang says that the new local case on Monday is a woman in her forties from New Taipei City. She tested positive after seeking medical treatment for reasons unrelated to COVID-19.

Chuang says her CT value was 34.9, which indicates a low viral load. He says authorities think she was unlikely to have been infected recently.

Nonetheless, Chuang says authorities have identified 98 possible contacts, including people at the preschool where the woman works. Sixty-seven of them are now undergoing quarantine, with follow-up testing to take place shortly.

Taiwan also recorded ten imported cases of COVID-19 on Monday. They include travelers from Indonesia, the United States, the Philippines, Singapore and Mongolia.
