Democratic Progressive Party lawmaker Mark Ho has proposed an increased relief for those who become severely ill after getting a COVID-19 vaccine.
Health ministry statistics show that as of October 19, 912 people had died after getting vaccinated, while 4,876 became severely ill.
Ho said that currently, relief funding for people suffering vaccine side effects is capped at NT$30,000 (US$1,076). Ho also said that the review process for those seeking relief payments is slow.
