Taiwan recorded eight imported COVID-19 cases among people arriving in the country on Wednesday. There were no locally transmitted cases or COVID-19 related deaths.
Taiwan’s total caseload stands at 16,388 confirmed cases, with 847 deaths.
The imported cases of COVID-19 include travelers from the United States, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
In related news, Health Minister Chen Shih-chung says that a shipment of vaccine doses Japan pledged to donate to Taiwan arrived on Wednesday morning. The shipment contained 300,000 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. This was the sixth donation of COVID vaccine doses Japan has made to Taiwan so far. In total, Japan has donated 4.2 million vaccine doses to Taiwan.
