St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ Ambassador to Taiwan, Andrea Bowman, has gifted the foreign ministry a painting to commemorate 40 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Sean Roache, a Vincentian scholar studying in Taiwan on a foreign ministry scholarship, painted the donated work. Roache and Bowman brought the painting to the foreign ministry on Tuesday evening, where Vice Foreign Minister Yui Tah-ray accepted the gift.
The painting, titled Life on Daju Lu, depicts two people traveling together at an intersection in Kaohsiung City. The painting symbolizes the strong relationship between Taiwan and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Yui says that under Vincentian Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves’ leadership, Taiwan-St. Vincent ties have flourished. He said that Gonsalves makes Taiwan a priority, as was evident when Gonsalves attended the opening of St. Vincent’s embassy in Taiwan in 2019.
