After a long, hot summer, Taiwan’s mild autumn weather finally arrived in mid-October. Meteorologists say the country will see more of the same this week, before temperatures begin to drop on Sunday.
Taiwan saw a stretch of pleasantly cool weather over the last few days, prompting many to spend time outdoors. As northeasterly winds persist, this kind of weather will likely hold until Wednesday.
The east coast, the north, Keelung, and the Hengchun Peninsula may see localized showers, but central Taiwan and the South should experience varying cloud cover with a chance for some sunnier weather.
After Thursday, however, the seasonal winds will weaken, allowing temperatures to rise, and moist air from southern China to move in over Taiwan. The northern and eastern regions may see a spot of rain. This weather will not last long, though.
Seasonal winds from the northeast will pick up again on Sunday, after the front has rolled through. This will cause temperatures to fall right through ‘cool,’ all the way down to ‘cold.’ It might also mean rain in the northern part of Taiwan, and temperatures falling to 15 degrees in Taipei. In other words - it’s a typical Taiwan November.
