Taiwan reported one new local case of COVID-19 on Friday. The country also reported six more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan. There were no deaths reported.
The one local case reported on Friday is an Indonesian national in her thirties from Taipei. On November 1, she underwent COVID-19 testing for work-related reasons, and tested negative. Three days later, on November 4, she took a second test and tested positive with a Ct value of 40, indicating a very low viral load.
Health Minister Chen Shih-chung says authorities have identified five potential contacts.
Taiwan also recorded six imported cases of COVID-19 on Friday. They include travelers from France, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Japan, and Cambodia.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Taiwan has reported a total of 16,437 cases of COVID-19. That includes 1,792 imported cases and 14,591 domestic cases. Taiwan has also reported a total of 847 deaths from COVID-19.
