Minister: Taiwan’s second-dose COVID vaccination rate may hit 60% in Dec.
Taiwan's Health Minister says that Taiwan could reach 60% COVID-19 second-dose vaccination by December

Health Minister Chen Shin-chung says that Taiwan’s second-dose COVID-19 vaccination rate could hit 60% in December. That came when Chen answered lawmakers’ questions at the legislature on Wednesday.

Taiwan’s Central Epidemic Command Center says its goal is to reach a 60% second-dose vaccination rate. One legislator asked Chen if Taiwan currently had enough vaccine doses to reach that goal.

Chen says Taiwan’s second-dose vaccination rate is just over 38%. He says that Taiwan needs to administer another 5.5 million second doses to reach the Central Epidemic Command Center’s goal. Chen says that the government currently has two million doses in reserve. He says that more will arrive in Taiwan at the end of the month. He said this means that in total, there should be around six million doses available by then.
