The foreign ministry hosted a short film festival for filmmakers to create shorts introducing Taiwan to the world. The winners for the awards were recently announced.
A total of 185 entries were submitted to the 7th Trending Taiwan Short Film Competition. The top prize in the Creative Category went to a short film on the world-class food carving artist Ke Ming-chung and depicted his sculptures using the taro root and his life story. The best Brand Story award was presented to Wu Zong-han for his film on Taiwan’s diversified culture and efforts to move forward.
Other award-winning entries included topics on Taiwanese funerals, drink shops, environmental issues and recycling. The works include original compositions of songs linking Taiwan’s scenery and people.
The foreign ministry thanked all the contestants for their unique observations on Taiwan and presented them on screen. The ministry said the 20 winning entries can be seen on Trending Taiwan’s YouTube channel.
