COVID-19 (11/19): Taiwan reports no local cases, no deaths
Taiwan's COVID-19 case numbers for November 19, 2021.

Taiwan reported no new local cases of COVID-19 on Friday. However, authorities did report ten more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan. There were no deaths reported.

The ten imported cases of COVID-19 reported on Friday include travelers from Cambodia, Indonesia, Mongolia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Poland. The travelers entered Taiwan between April 24 and November 17.

As for vaccination against COVID-19, Health Minister Chen Shih-chung says authorities are extending the vaccination period for the current round of inoculations. Previously, appointments were only available on Saturdays and Sundays. Now, people will also be able to book an appointment on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.

Chen also announced a small change to authorities’ plan to allow people to undergo seven days of the two-week quarantine period at home. Chen says travelers will no longer have to buy a rapid test to use on their tenth day of quarantine. Instead, authorities will now provide the rapid test free of charge.
