Health authorities say starting January 1, workers at certain venues will have to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or submit to regular testing. The policy announced on Sunday applies to employees at 24 venue categories, including schools, swimming pools, and bars.
Workers will need to have received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before reporting for work. In addition, new employees and those returning to work will need to show they have tested negative for COVID-19 within the preceding three days. The test is self-paid, and it can be a rapid test or a PCR test.
People who can prove they previously tested positive for COVID-19 and were discharged from quarantine within the past three months do not have to be vaccinated. However, they must still provide a negative test result from within three days of starting or going back to work. They also must get vaccinated once three months have passed since the day they left quarantine.
The final scenario outlined by health authorities involves people who have received medical advice not to get vaccinated. These people have to provide a certificate from a doctor stating that they should not be inoculated against COVID-19. As with all other employees, these people must provide a negative test result from within three days of starting or going back to work. They also have to pay to take a weekly rapid test or PCR test.
