Foreign Minister Joseph Wu has thanked the United States for including language supportive of Taiwan in its 2022 defense spending bill.
The defense committees of the US House of Representatives and the US Senate unveiled the bill on Tuesday.
The bill includes text calling on the US to provide Taiwan’s military with the means to engage in asymmetrical warfare. Elsewhere, the text of the bill recommends Taiwan’s inclusion in military exercises slated to take place in the Indo-Pacific region next year.
