Registration for the next round of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines begins Tuesday on the government’s 1922 platform. Appointments can be made from 10am on Tuesday to noon on Wednesday.  The doses will be given from December 16 to 22.

About 1.2 million are eligible to receive a first or second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in this round. These include people in Taiwan aged 12 and over who want to get their first dose. Those 18 and over who got their first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on or before November 18 can register for a second dose.

Taiwan is also allowing the mixing of vaccines. People 18 and over who received a first dose of AstraZeneca vaccine on or before October 21 and want to get the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine as a second jab can also make a reservation.

People can also directly book slots with hospitals offering vaccination services to get the Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, or Medigen vaccine.

Walk-in vaccinations for the Moderna vaccine are also still ongoing at the Taipei Main Station from 1pm-8pm until December 21.

Taiwan is progressing well in vaccinating its people. To date, 79 percent of Taiwan's population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 64 percent have received two doses. A total of 30,288 people have received a third booster shot.
