The foreign ministry is reporting that Lithuania is still on track to open a representative office in Taiwan. That’s despite recent Chinese diplomatic and economic pressure aimed at dissuading Lithuania from seeking closer ties with Taiwan.
On Thursday, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Joanne Ou said that Taiwan and Lithuania are partners that share the values of freedom and democracy.
Ou said that Taiwan hopes to further cooperation with Lithuania in the areas of the economy and investment, industrial integration, and supply chain safety. She also said that Taiwan will continue helping Taiwanese and Lithuanian firms link up with one another.
