COVID-19 (12/27): Taiwan reports no local cases, no deaths

Taiwan reported no new local cases of COVID-19 on Monday. The country also reported 16 more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan. 

Although no local cases were reported on Monday, one was found and made public on Sunday. A 30-year-old unvaccinated Taiwanese man has been determined to be a case of old infection.

Taiwan also recorded 16 imported cases of COVID-19 on Monday. They include travelers from the United States, Vietnam, Hungary, Kazakhstan, the Philippines, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Indonesia. The travelers, aged between 10 and 60, entered the country between December 12 and 26.  

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Taiwan has reported a total of 16,931 cases of COVID-19. That includes 2,277 imported cases and 14,600 domestic cases. Taiwan has also reported a total of 850 deaths from COVID-19.
