Taiwan’s military says that a fire that broke at an aerospace company plant on Wednesday morning won’t affect two important air force projects.
The fire hit a plant in Taichung run by Taiwanese aerospace company AIDC. The blaze left six people injured, while one person was found to be without vital signs. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
Military officials said Wednesday that the plant building where the fire broke out is not where Taiwan manufactures its Brave Eagle advanced jet trainers or upgrades its F-16V fighters. They say that therefore, the fire will not have an impact on either of these two projects.
