Taiwan reported twenty-two new local cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. Health authorities also reported thirty-four more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan.
There were no deaths reported.
Of the 22 new local cases announced on Thursday, 11 were men and 11 were women. Nine tested positive while in quarantine. Twelve of the new local cases began experiencing symptoms from January 28 to February 2, while the remaining ten were asymptomatic.

Taoyuan City: 7
Kaohsiung City: 15
As for the source of the 22 local cases announced on Thursday, six cases were connected to a cluster in an Yilan hotel, nine cases were connected to a cluster at a port in Kaohsiung City, one case was connected to a Taoyuan kindergarten cluster, and the remaining six cases have also been traced to known sources.
Taiwan also recorded 34 imported cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. They include travelers from the US, China, England, the Philippines, Japan, Australia, Thailand, Turkey, Germany, Spain, and Sweden. The nationality of ten travelers is still under investigation. Among those imported cases, ten tested positive upon arriving in Taiwan, while 24 tested positive while undergoing government-mandated quarantine.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Taiwan has reported a total of 18,958 cases of COVID-19. That includes 3,786 imported cases and 15,118 domestic cases. Taiwan has also reported a total of 851 deaths from COVID-19.
