Taiwan’s National Development Council says it will continue in its efforts to create a good business environment for foreign enterprises operating in Taiwan. That statement came in a press release on Wednesday.
The council’s press statement says that foreign chambers of commerce active in Taiwan work hand-in-hand with the government to create a friendly business environment. It also says that foreign businesses have a very positive outlook of Taiwan’s government and are grateful for aid extended to them during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The council says that Taiwan has implemented a number of measures aimed at facilitating foreign business operations in Taiwan. These include simplifying procedures for issuing cloud-based receipts and filing taxes.
The council plans to continue working with Taiwan-based chambers of commerce and to integrate Taiwan’s laws with a wider, international legal framework. The council sees this as preparation for a possible future membership in the CPTPP, a prominent international free trade agreement.
