COVID-19 (02/14): Taiwan reports 4 local, 50 imported cases

Taiwan reported four new local cases of COVID-19 on Monday. Health authorities also reported 50 more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan. 

There were no deaths reported.

Of the four new local cases announced on Monday, two were men and two were women. One of the cases is a Miaoli resident who has been connected to a cluster of unknown origin, with related cases reaching New Taipei, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Hsinchu County, and Miaoli County. The other three cases were reported in Kaohsiung and currently have unknown infection sources.


Taiwan also recorded 50 imported cases of COVID-19 on Monday. They include travelers from the United States, Hong Kong, the UK, Japan, Germany, Canada, Cambodia, Australia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, France, and Sweden. The travel history of 18 imported cases is still under investigation.
