Taiwan reported two new local cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. Health authorities also reported 54 more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan.
There were no deaths reported.
Of the two new local cases announced on Wednesday, one was male and one was female. One tested positive while in quarantine. Both are linked to a cluster that was first discovered in New Taipei City.
Taiwan also recorded 54 imported cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, 31 of which tested positive upon arrival in Taiwan. They include travelers from the United States, the Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, Japan, Switzerland, South Korea, Australia, Turkey, Brazil, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, and Canada.
To date, Taiwan has confirmed 20,156 COVID-19 cases, which includes 4,708 imported cases. The country has recorded 852 deaths from COVID-19.
