COVID-19 (02/27): Taiwan reports 16 local, 44 imported cases
COVID case numbers for February 27, 2022

Taiwan reported 16 new local cases of COVID-19 on Saturday. Health authorities also reported 44 more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan. There were no deaths reported.

The new domestic cases are all linked to past cases. Eleven of them were in Taoyuan while the other five were in New Taipei.

Six of these children were children under 10 who had not been vaccinated and another eight cases had also not been vaccinated. Two had received one vaccine dose while six had received two or three doses of a COVID vaccine.

Of the 44 imported cases on Sunday, 20 were travelers who tested positive at the airport. The other 24 tested positive in quarantine.

To date, Taiwan has confirmed 20,433 COVID-19 cases including 15,426 domestic infections. The total number of deaths is 853.
