Taiwan reported nine new local cases of COVID-19 on Monday. Health authorities also reported 47 more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan.
There were no deaths reported.
Seven of the new domestic cases were in Taoyuan and were connected to a local kindergarten cluster, which has now expanded to include 21 cases.
The two remaining cases were in New Taipei and Tainan. They tested positive while in quarantine after authorities identified them as potential contacts of previous COVID-19 cases.
Taiwan also recorded 47 imported cases of COVID-19 on Monday. Thirty-five of them tested positive on arrival in Taiwan, while the remaining 12 tested positive in quarantine. They include travelers from the United States, Vietnam, and Germany, among others. Health authorities are still verifying the travel history of 30 travelers.
