COVID-19 (03/01): Taiwan reports 4 local, 40 imported cases
Taiwan's COVID-19 case numbers for March 1, 2022.

Taiwan reported four new local cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. Health authorities also reported 40 more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan.

There were no deaths reported.

One of the new local cases is a woman in her forties from Taipei City. She tested positive in quarantine, after health authorities identified her as a possible contact of a previously confirmed case. The woman’s infection is linked to a broader cluster in northern Taiwan centered around a real estate agency.

The other three local cases are three children between the ages of 5 and 10. All of them are part of a cluster in Taoyuan City centering on a local kindergarten.

Taiwan also recorded 40 imported cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. Twenty-five of them tested positive on arrival in Taiwan, while the remaining 15 tested positive in quarantine. They include travelers from the United States, Hong Kong, and Indonesia, among others. Health authorities are still verifying the travel history of nine travelers.
