Taiwan reported two new local cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. Health authorities also reported 47 more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan.
There were no reported deaths.
The two new domestic cases were in Taoyuan and connected to a cluster infection at four schools in the city. In-person classes at those schools have been suspended and instruction will continue virtually until March 11.
One patient was vaccinated with two doses of the BioNTech-Pfizer vaccine while the other had not received any COVID vaccines.
Of the 47 imported cases, 20 of them tested positive upon arrival in Taiwan.
To date, Taiwan has reported 20,582 COVID-19 cases including 15,441 domestically transmitted infections and 853 deaths.
