After organizing two rounds of evacuations from Ukraine, Taiwan’s foreign ministry says nine citizens are still in the country.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Joanne Ou says Taiwan’s representatives in Russia and Kyiv are maintaining close contact with the people still in Ukraine.
But Ou says that ultimately, if they want to stay in Ukraine, the foreign ministry has to respect their decision.
According to the ministry, there are seven Taiwanese people still in Kyiv, along with one in Odessa and another in Lviv.
Ou says Taiwan will continue providing them with assistance based on their needs.
