Taiwan reported three new local cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. Health authorities also reported 74 more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan.
There were no deaths reported.
As for the local cases, all three of the people with COVID-19 are part of the same cluster. That cluster began with a group of friends that went traveling during Taiwan’s recent national holiday.
Two of the people confirmed with COVID-19 on Wednesday are pharmacists at a hospital in Tainan. Health authorities have closed the hospital till Sunday and tested almost 500 people. All of them have tested negative.
Taiwan also recorded 74 imported cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. Fifty-four of them tested positive on arrival in Taiwan, while the remaining 20 tested positive in quarantine. They include travelers from the United States, India, and Indonesia, among others. Health authorities are still verifying the travel history of 38 travelers.
