Taiwan reported zero new local cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. It’s the first time in more than two months that there have been no new domestic infections.
Health Minister Chen Shih-chung says that’s good news, but authorities are still working hard to control Taiwan’s local outbreak one day at a time.
Health authorities also reported 82 more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan. That’s the highest number for a single day since the pandemic began. Sixty-five of them tested positive on arrival in Taiwan, while the remaining 17 tested positive in quarantine. They include travelers from Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines, among others.
There were no deaths reported.
