Protesters rallying in support of Ukraine will march through central Taipei on Sunday in a show of solidarity with Ukrainian people. The Taiwan Stands with Ukraine march comes as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine enters its third week.

The march’s organizer, Chang Yun-tsui, says her sister-in-law’s family live in central Ukraine, and they haven’t yet fled the country. She hopes the protest will make people in Taiwan more aware of what is happening in Ukraine.

Chang and the other organizers of the march are calling on people in Taiwan to come and show their support for Ukrainian sovereignty.

The event begins in Da’an Park on Sunday, March 13 at 1 p.m. and will feature speeches by representatives of Taiwan’s major political parties. Then, protesters will begin their march through central Taipei and end their demonstration in front of the Presidential Office Building.
