Taiwan reported 33 new local cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. Health authorities also reported 63 more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan.
There were no deaths reported.
Of the 33 new local cases, only four tested positive while in quarantine. Some of Tuesday’s new local cases were linked to clusters related to a family in Taitung, an apartment complex in New Taipei City, and workplaces in New Taipei City and Taoyuan. Nine of the cases were connected to a Keelung cluster that emerged last week.
Taiwan also recorded 63 imported cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. Thirteen of them tested positive on arrival in Taiwan, while the remaining 50 tested positive in quarantine. They include travelers from Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines, among others. Health authorities are still verifying the travel history of seven travelers.
