Taoyuan City will have a new ecological park by October this year. Part of the park was completed last April and is open to the public. The city welcomes visitors of all ages to visit during the upcoming Children’s Day long weekend.
Taoyuan City Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan is taking a tour of the semi-completed Danan Forest Park. Once the park is completed, it will not only be an ecological park but also a venue to display local culture.
Mayor Cheng said the area is rich with all kinds of plant species and birds, such as the yellow Oriole bird. That’s why the city decided to make it into a forest park. He says the park is going to be an oasis in the city.
The park began construction in June 2020. By October, it will include a flood detention pond, ecological landscapes, plantations and boardwalks. There will also be a recreation center, an arts village, and a food sharing center.
The part of the park that was already completed last year is a children’s toy room and play area. The section also introduces toy museums from all over the world. Mayor Cheng hopes that many will visit on the first anniversary of the children’s area this weekend.
