Taiwan reported 104 new local cases of COVID-19 on Friday. That’s the highest daily total in 2022 so far.
Most of the people confirmed with COVID on Friday are from northern Taiwan. That includes 40 people from New Taipei City, 20 from Keelung, another 20 from Taoyuan and 12 from Taipei.
Authorities also diagnosed four people with COVID-19 in Changhua County, three in Hualien County, two from Taichung, another two from Kaohsiung, and one from Hsinchu County.
Taiwan also recorded 132 imported cases of COVID-19 on Friday. Seventy-five of them tested positive on arrival in Taiwan, while the remaining 57 tested positive in quarantine. They include travelers coming from Vietnam, Thailand, and the United States, among others.
There were no deaths from COVID-19 reported on Friday.
