Taiwan reported 382 new local cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, the highest daily total this year.
Almost a third of the new cases were in New Taipei City: 111 people tested positive there. Another 87 people were diagnosed with COVID in Taipei, while 59 caught the disease in Kaohsiung.

Health authorities say the vast majority of people with COVID are experiencing mild symptoms or no symptoms at all.
Taiwan also recorded 149 imported cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. There were no deaths reported.
