A delegation of Swedish lawmakers and EU parliamentarians will land in Taiwan on Monday for a four-day visit. It will be the first time legislators from the EU and Sweden have made a joint visit to Taiwan.
The group will be led by the chair of the Swedish-Taiwanese Parliamentarian Association, Boriana Aberg, and European lawmaker Charlie Weimers. Weimers was the lead author of a European Parliament report calling for an EU-Taiwan investment agreement.
The delegation will meet President Tsai Ing-wen on Tuesday.
Taiwan’s Presidential Office says it looks forward to working with Sweden to strengthen the resilience of democracy worldwide and improve ties between Taiwan, Sweden and the European Union.
